They include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Corruption<\/li>\n<li>Injustice<\/li>\n<li>Inadequate Education<\/li>\n<li>Progress Resistant Religion<\/li>\n<li>Dysfunctional Government<\/li>\n<li>Class Based Society<\/li>\n<li>Colonialism (Historic and Current)<\/li>\n<li>Dependency<\/li>\n<li>Culture of Poverty<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Clearly, this is only a partial list. However, three things occurred to me as I thought about these root causes of poverty:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>If you want to reduce poverty you need to address the causes of poverty, not just the symptoms.<\/li>\n<li>The causes of wealth can not be super-imposed on a culture of poverty.<\/li>\n<li>The common denominator that links all of the Demons of Poverty is EVIL.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I define the Demons of Poverty as the root causes of poverty.
